Manufacturing Shift Supervisor - Bilingual
Responsible for all safe operational and personnel functions in Extrusion and Compounding areas. Achieving immediate objectives of output, quality, safety and cost reduction. Position will provide leadership, training and organizational development to the extrusion manufacturing team. 2nd Shift - Hours will vary between 2:30-3:00 pm to 10:30-11:30 pm.
Coordinator Responsibilities:
Perform all job functions in a safe manner, also responsible for complying with company policies and procedures
Responsible for all safe operational and personnel functions in Extrusion and Compounding areas
Responsible for quality of product made on designated shift
Must exhibit an above average mechanical aptitude, successful troubleshooting skills and demonstrate good judgement
Responsible for ensuring and enforcing that all employees follow company and department procedures
Assist in the evaluation, growth, and development of personnel on your designated shift
Have knowledge of hazardous materials in the department, MSDS, their use and disposal
Responsible for leading housekeeping efforts and maintaining a clean department
Manage the critical metric for their shift, i.e. scrap, productivity, downtime etc.
Overseeing the operation of mixers, single screw extruders, control systems, winding, and slitting systems
Use conflict management and resolution when personnel situations arise. Call for assistance if needed
Effectively communicate pertinent business information to shift members
Responsible for accurate reporting of data by shift personnel
Troubleshoot machine problems and communicate equipment issues and complex mechanical and electrical issues to maintenance
Leads Extrusion manufacturing team on continuous improvement activities
Responsible for production standards, minimizing scrap and downtime by improving equipment and processes
Responsible for training and development of personnel on designated shift by communicating job expectations, appraising job performance and offering training where necessary
Identify and immediately communicate personnel and safety issues to Extrusion/Compounding Facilitator and assist with investigations and resolutions of the issues
Minimum Requirements:
Excellent safety and attendance record
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Basic knowledge in math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
Effective people skills
Ability to take responsibility for self and team
Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment
Proven success in problem solving both personnel and production issues and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
Possesses basic computer skills
Ability to work 12 hour rotating day and night shifts
Excellent attendance record
Ability to balance and achieve results in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost Reduction
Have working knowledge of machine production schedules
Self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision and maintain a working and up-to-date knowledge of products and services
Must have the ability to complete two or more task simultaneously
Must be able to withstand a variety of environmental conditions such as extremes in temperature and chemical irritants
Must be able to handle self in a professional manner with co-workers and customers
Must be able to continually bend, stoop, crouch, reach above shoulder, use arms, wrists, grasp and squeeze with hands, access constricted spaces, and lift and carry up to 75 lbs
