Turner Boyd Seraphine LLP is Hiring a Litigation Associate Near San Francisco, CA

About

Turner Boyd Seraphine is an intellectual property litigation boutique based in San Mateo. We are adding multiple associates to our growing team! Our firm was built around a simply stated goal: to provide the expertise and quality of a large firm with the personalized service and value of a small firm.

We are smart and passionate advocates. But we believe that billing 2000 or more hours a year doesn’t serve the interests of our clients or ourselves. And we believe that we cannot be excellent lawyers without valuing our lives outside the office, our families, and our friendships. Instead, we litigate with focus, efficiency, and creativity; with our clients’ business needs firmly in mind; and with well-cultivated senses of proportion and humor.

Qualifications

The ideal candidates will have between 1 and 5 years of experience in complex litigation, particularly patent and other IP and/or federal court litigation.

She/he/they will have experience in discovery and motion practice, and will be capable of taking charge of a substantive portion of a litigation matter. Excellent legal research and writing skills are an absolute prerequisite. Technical aptitude is required, and a technical degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Turner Boyd Seraphine associates get the kinds of experience, responsibilities, and opportunities that firms typically restrict to senior attorneys. Instead of helping partners prepare for oral arguments and depositions, they are preparing to do them. Our clients recognize their voices and faces, not just their names on the bill. And they are not just part of a team — sometimes, they’ve been known to lead it.

Compensation and Location

Our compensation package is competitive with peer firms, commensurate with our lower billable hour expectations. Benefits include fully covered health insurance premiums and 401(k) profit sharing. The salary range is $138,000 to $179,000 and up, plus bonus structure based on experience. These positions are in-office in San Mateo, California.

Contact

If we just described the type of place you want to work and the type of lawyer you want to be, please send your cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and writing sample to recruiting@turnerboyd.com.

Turner Boyd Seraphine has pledged to promote diversity and inclusion through hiring and retention, promotion, and leadership. We strongly encourage applicants of diverse backgrounds to apply.
