RRC is seeking a talented Geotechnical Engineer with a 3 - 5 years of experience in energy, industrial, or transportation projects to join our team in Round Rock, Texas. RRC is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that specializes in energy projects, particularly renewable energy, throughout the United States.  Responsibilities

  • Serve as a engineering Project Engineer for utility-scale wind and solar energy projects
  • Oversee the planning and execution of subsurface investigation and the laboratory testing program for site characterization
  • Perform complex geotechnical engineering and soil-structure analyses for evaluation of shallow and deep foundation systems, earthwork recommendations, dewatering during construction, slope stability, and access roadway design
  • Develop and review calculations packages and geotechnical report and design memoranda, prepare design specifications, and perform research for new concepts and technologies
  • Review project specifications and develop scope of work, schedules, and budgetary estimates for proposals
  • Mentor entry-level engineering staff
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary design team, subcontractors, and clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering emphasis is a plus
  • Active NCEES Record is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and advance understanding of the soils mechanics and geology topics
  • Familiarity with geotechnical standards and requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of geotechnical subsurface explorations, laboratory, and in-situ testing
  • Hands on experience with construction material testing and inspection
  • Experience with construction services during construction
  • Experience in shallow and deep foundation engineering analysis, technical report writing, and review of engineering contract documents
  • Experience performing and delivering large geotechnical engineering projects and providing technical leadership
  • Experience with Pile Drivability Evaluation with GRLWEAP, pile load tests, PDA, and dynamic pile capacity analysis using CAPWAP
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Should hold Professional Engineering license in Texas (Preferred) or ability to obtain one within three months
