RS H is Hiring an Aviation Division Leader Near Houston, TX

The Opportunity

RS&H is seeking an Aviation Division Leader for our South-Central Division (Texas and surrounding states).

To advance our growth plans, we need a successful leader who has an established presence in Texas with the drive and ability to lead the business. This vital role will provide leadership and strategic direction for the Aviation team, reporting directly to our Regional Leader. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide leadership and direction to the current Aviation team; coordinate with our national resources; recruit and mentor additional resources, including opportunistic hires; and work directly with RS&H’s senior leadership to deploy RS&H’s strategic initiative for the Division. If your passion is to lead a team of highly qualified engineers and designers to drive innovation, growth and solve our clients’ most complex challenges, be part of our future!

As the Aviation Division Leader, you will be primarily responsible for the sales of the Division, including growth and sales for the Aviation market segments and service groups. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to achieve top-line growth goals, including identification of market share revenue compared to peer firms within existing geographies; development and execution of business plans to elevate our top-line growth and align with top-tier peer firm levels; identification of potential growth locations; and balancing investments from a sales perspective across the footprint of the Division to maximize returns.

In addition, the Aviation Division Leader will be a key member of the Central Region Leadership team and will be integral in setting and responsible for achieving our 3-yr, 1-yr, and quarterly financial, sales, and resource goals. The ability to connect with and sustain professional relationships with team members, clients, partners, and other industry involvement is essential. The successful candidate may also serve in a project leadership role, providing oversight and management of contracts; providing technical and communication expertise; coordinating directly with client leadership; and providing senior level guidance.

The Aviation Division Leader role can be successfully executed from any of our established offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio. This is an opportunity to build on the portfolio of our current work and expand into greater market penetration. The successful candidate can anticipate a pathway to becoming an Owner and Vice President in the firm upon board approval.

Our ideal candidate is comfortable working in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment and has excellent communication, analysis, and documentation skills. We are looking for resourceful and innovative engineers that enjoy working in a collaborative environment. If you are ready to make an impact, we welcome you!

Goals and Objectives:

  • Lead business development in the Aviation market to provide client management, growth and sustained backlog, including leadership of client relationships for loyalty, long-term engagement, and lifetime retention
  • Participate in the annual development and execution of the firm’s Business Plan, including establishing sales, revenue, and expense goals
  • Participate in achieving sales goals for pursuits within the Division, and aid in marshalling appropriate resources to do so
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to develop goals, growth plans, and implement strategic initiatives
  • Develop successful partnerships and relationships with other consulting firms to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for projects
  • Lead critical pursuits within the 18-month horizon, mentor practice builders in forming client relationships, expand the points of contacts between clients and RS&H, and align RS&H thought leaders with clients
  • Participate in the positive promotion of Division-wide initiatives, in collaboration with other leadership
  • Monitor and participate in the development of associate morale, addressing any associate concerns or issues, and collaborating with Human Resources, as necessary
  • Attend and present at conferences to improve the visibility of RS&H’s services and expertise

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience within aviation infrastructure development

  • Strong supervisory skills and record of leading multiple/multi-discipline teams
  • Excellent organization and motivation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to travel across the Division to existing/potential Airport Clients
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
