JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and conducts Continuing Education programs for clinical staff
Conduct mandatory in-services for all staff.
Conducts orientation program for new staff and coordinates a smooth transition to team with direct supervisors
Follow and evaluate newly employed nursing staff after orientation period, conduct extra orientation if necessary, and recommend extension of probation, or termination as indicated
Conduct and/or coordinator formal and informal education activities.
Conducts on going education on EMR and new policies implemented within the organization.
Conduct field visits with Nurses to assess competencies and provide clinical support.
Ensure that staff attends in-services and keep track of staff attendance of in-service
Develop and implement focused clinical studies, maintain database, and produce written reports to support conclusions.
Coordinate with the Quality Department on Infection Control for updates and current practice to ensure all staff are educated
Develop and implement annual nurse competency assessment program
Contribute to the development and revision of clinical policies and procedures, educational and training materials.
Participate in Quality Assessment activities including chart audits, vendor audits, and environmental safety.
Participate in performance improvements project and committee
Participate in special activities of the department and institutional as assigned.
Assist in nursing staff recruitment by interviewing and recommending applicants for employment
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education : Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing; Masters Degree Preferred
Experience : 5 years or more experience conducting training classes or an Education Coordinator in healthcare facility.
License/Registration : New York State Registered Nurse License
Other : Candidate must have excellent written and computer skills.
Weekly Hours: 40
Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM | Monday - Friday
