RSM US LLP is looking for a SALT Senior Associate to join our expanding Asset Management practice. Our Asset Management practice serves a range of clients in the financial services industry including private equity funds, hedge funds, fund of funds, capital market clients and real estate clients.
This particular role offers the opportunity to join a high-performing, high-growth team while working with complex clients in the Investment Fund industry with a focus on private equity funds, hedge funds and FoF clients. As a SALT Senior Associate, you will be responsible for the following job duties that are focused around two core concepts: your technical & quality expertise, and delivering excellent client service:
Responsibilities :
  • Preparing complex Private Equity, Hedge Fund and/or FoF partnership state tax returns
  • Detailed review and analysis of state tax returns
  • Performing, documenting, and summarizing research and conclusions regarding specific state tax issues
  • Develop, motivate, and train staff level and intern team members
  • Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, concerns, etc.
  • Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Some travel may be required (varies based on location and client need)
Basic Qualifications :
  • 2 years of experience in business taxation working for a Big 4 or a large national, regional or local accounting firm
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, EA or a licensed JD
  • Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements
  • Experience preparing and reviewing state returns
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Masters of Accounting
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or EA
  • Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm
  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
  • Strong technical skills in accounting and state tax preparation within the investment fund industry; review experience a plus

Compensation Range: $72,600 - $137,500
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
