Description

Overview:

Depending on the nature of the contract Rex Moore Group, Inc. is either a Prime Contractor or a Sub Contractor. In most cases the company is a Sub Contractor working under contract with the General Contractor. The Foreman is responsible for developing and maintaining a good working relationship with the General Contractor and the other Sub Contractors working on the project. The Foreman is also responsible for coordinating the schedules with the General Contractors and the other Subcontractor's

The Foreman will also be dealing with Architects, Engineers, Designers, the Owner and/or their representatives. It is also the Foreman's responsibility to develop and maintain a good working relationship with these people as well, and to represent the company by showing respect and belief in the common goal of everyone, to get the job done on time and within budget.

Tasks: Employee has the ability to demonstrate the following competencies at a more advanced basic level including all competencies in the subordinate levels. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Meets or exceeds project schedules, productivity standards and project budgets.
  • Perform pre-project planning tasks: check project documentation is in place prior to startup, develop work breakdown schedule with PM, schedule subcontractor activities, review project plans, subcontract agreements, and prepare cost analysis.
  • Supervise, direct, and monitor the work of all employees under his/her jurisdiction.
  • Document and report all disciplinary issues to HR. Implement any actions or procedures as instructed by HR or supervisor.
  • Lay out and schedule work for subordinate lead persons and crew.
  • Monitor labor productivity, quality control, and direct the crew to ensure project schedule and production quotas are met.
  • Provide employees with performance feedback and conduct performance evaluations timely.
  • Hire and terminate employees and temporary workers with assistance from Human Resources.
  • Coordinate work and activities with PM, GC, owner reps and other trades.
  • Communicate job site problems and personnel issues to PM.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and schedule job site meetings when necessary with the Owner, General Contractor, Engineer, Architect, and the Project Team.
  • Forecast labor needs, establish labor goals and coordinate labor needs with PM.
  • Review and maintain labor percentage complete with the Project Manager or Project Engineer weekly.
  • Forecast materials, tools, and equipment needs in advance to ensure that the proper resources are available for project startup and completion.
  • Order and coordinate deliveries, handling, storage, inspection, equipment rentals, placement of materials and equipment on the jobsite with the Project Engineer.
  • Perform administrative functions in a timely manner: time sheets, labor coding, daily logs, material and tool requisitions, schedules and safety reports.
  • Identifies, schedules, and serve as the main point of contact for jobsite related inspections.
  • As needed, prepare detail drawings for project.
  • Administrative duties include completing safety documentation, daily job journals, update job files, and maintain up-to-date as-built plans, change order information, packing slips, and AWAs.
  • Review and update the short interval schedule (SIS) on a weekly basis, three weeks into the future.
  • Perform daily jobsite inspections to ensure crew members are performing clean-up duties regularly.
  • Operate hand and power tools and equipment necessary to perform all trade associated assignments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
  • Performs Energized Electrical Work procedures up to 480 volts using establish process and procedures.
  • Performs metering and testing up to 480 volts
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other project related duties as assigned
  • May be requested to perform duties of subordinate levels.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications: In addition to the tasks listed, the ideal candidate shall have, at minimum:

  • Demonstrates leadership qualities and skills.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • Proficient at the interpretation and application of blueprints, including architectural, civil, and structural prints.
  • Strong communication skills ability to provide and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Effectively communicates technical information with peers, assistants, project supervision & other trades.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, basic calculations, blueprint, and drawing interpretation & troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic construction scheduling.
  • Proficient at interpreting basic construction related accounting reports.
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and initiative
  • Exhibits high level of organization throughout work tasks.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Proficient at arithmetic (including fractions & decimals) and basic algebra.

Education, Certifications, Licenses:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Holds a current General Electrical certification through the state
  • At least 5-10 years of related experience

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position manages and directs up to three to five member crews.

Work Environment:

Regularly exposed to environmental conditions inside and outside: inclement weather, cold, heat, and humidity. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Frequently exposed to vibrations, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, machines, dust and chemicals. May be required to function in crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, and other areas of close proximity. Occasionally required to work on elevated surfaces including on ladders and lifts.

  • Occasionally required to reach forward, grab, grasp, pinching, handle material and tools using upper extremities
  • Occasionally required to perform repetitive motion tasks such as typing on a computer keyboard and writing
  • Occasionally required to pull or push using force
  • Occasionally required to lift objects from low to high positions in horizontal to vertical motions
  • Frequently required to lift objects weighing up to 25lbs
  • Occasionally required to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs with assistance
  • Frequently required to talk, express or exchange detailed, important information by means of verbal communication.
  • Constantly required to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to hear detailed information and distinguish sounds to avoid hazards.
  • Required to have near and far sited visual acuity with or without correction. Must be able to inspect small parts, operating tools, using measurement devices and/or assembly or fabrication parts. Must also be able to visually identify and read posted signs, instructions, and identify possible hazards
  • Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work.
