RSVC is looking for an experienced Chief Construction Estimator.
RSVC is a Construction General Contractor and Service Maintenance Company. We serve the Grocery, Retail, Fuel, Restaurant, and Commercial Facility Industries. We seek an organized self-starter with excellent communication skills to join our team. Understanding of general/commercial construction techniques, requirements, and common methods/practices related to Commercial construction projects are required.
Job Summary: The Chief Construction Estimator is a crucial member of the construction team, responsible for managing a team of estimators and administrators to oversee the entire preconstruction process. This role demands a highly detail-oriented individual who can deliver precise estimates within tight deadlines. The Chief Estimator will be instrumental in bidding on medium to large scale projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all preconstruction activities. Should demonstrate an imaginative, innovative, and succinct approach to a project.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage a team of estimators and administrators.
· Oversee the preconstruction process from start to finish.
· Analyze blueprints, survey notes, photos, client redlines, and bid documents to define the scope of work.
· Review bid packages for competitive coverage, completeness, and constructability.
· Collaborate closely with field operations, project management, and clients to gather necessary information and clarify details for accurate estimates.
· Utilize expertise in general/commercial construction techniques, requirements, and common methods/practices related to commercial construction projects.
· Ensure all estimates are completed with high attention to detail and accuracy, adhering to short timeline requirements.
Responsibilities:
· Identifying the time constraints in the projects.
· Managing the bid submission and prequalification process.
· Ensuring the team has an understanding and analyzing the construction documents
· Contacting Contractors and vendors to find the best prices
· Preparing reports and presenting them to the higher management
· Working in collaboration with the team members
· Maintaining a strong relationship with the Contractors
· Staying updated with the latest industrial practices and trends
· Developing estimates for planning and organizing the project
· Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
· Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors, and prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements:

· Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read and understand various blueprints: Architectural, civil, structural, and plumbing.
· Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and familiarity with Procore, Sage Service Operations, Sage Estimating, and Blue Beam Revu is a plus.
· Experience: Proven experience in construction estimating, with a focus on fuel, convenience store, and carwash construction projects. Mandatory ground-up construction experience.
The Chief Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in the financial planning of construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in all bids. This position demands a strategic thinker with a meticulous approach to cost analysis and project management.
Experience:
- 10-15 years of experience in construction (office or in field)
- At least 5 years of experience as a Chief Estimator or similar role
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
- Must be able to travel to job sites to perform surveys
