How You’ll Make an Impact The Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer develops and improves process capabilities and efficiencies in support of Company strategies and goals. In cooperation with management and staff, identifies key processes to be developed and/or improved. Once identified, the CI Engineer develops teams and tools to measure, analyze, implement/optimize and monitor process improvements. What you’ll be doing as a Continuous Improvement Engineer: Working a Full-time, onsite position at our Chatsworth, California location. Assess and recommend to management key processes for development and/or improvement. Scope of responsibility includes all administrative and operational processes. Support and track progress against annual Continuous Improvement Plan. Create, analyzes and measures processes. Leads, facilitates, and supports project teams. Uses appropriate tools to achieve objectives including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, SMED, A3, 5 Whys, and Effect Diagrams and Pareto Analysis. Defines process with the correct resources to implement plans, including commitment of internal staff time, recommending tooling purchases, equipment acquisitions, and outside services for efficiency. Performs time studies. Other duties may be assigned by Operations Excellence Lead. Manage 6S Program / Conduct 6S Audits. Manage Machine Efficiency. Daily shop floor that’s working with operators on tooling and process optimization / manage operator recommendations, ideas and actions. Executing each project by the deadline. Review MO’s prior to release for: Engineering Standards review and update Improvement opportunities Preparation of Machine Performance Identify each KPI for tracking Lead brainstorming, Value Stream Mapping and Pareto Analysis to identify and quantify improvement opportunities. Lead A3 Problem-Solving Lead Kaizen Events Lead Six Sigma Projects (DMAIC) Responsible for continuous improvement activities, such us kaizen, layout, SMED, etc., in order to improve productivity of the operation. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience. Minimum 2 years' experience in lean manufacturing. Formal training and experience in project management and Kaizen facilitation. Experience in continuous improvement activities, lean manufacturing, six sigma principles. Basic shop math. Good Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Leadership ability. Ability to multitask. Preferred Requirements: CNC programming experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field of study. Certification from a Six Sigma belt program. Compensation and Benefits: Employee Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long-term disability and 401(k) with up to 6% QACA company match. The Continuous Improvement Engineer Compensation range for onsite California applicants is $70,000 - $80,000 annual salary commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
