Position Objective: This position supports Rubino & Company's clients by preparing tax returns, participating in tax consulting engagements, and assisting with providing tax advice to clients. Also responsible for development and leadership of staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Prepare multi-state, C corporation tax returns, pass through entity and individual tax returns and exempt organization tax filings
•Participate in tax consulting engagements addressing various areas including converting S corporations and LLCs to C corporations, cash to accrual adjustments and R&D tax credits
•Provide responsive, high quality tax services to clients at all times
•Develop and understanding of client businesses and use effective questioning and listening skills to elicit information
•Applies technical knowledge and research in formulating client related recommendations
•Helps to solve complex issues
•Learn and refine project management skills
•Develop skills in all core competency areas and apply them effectively
•Assist in providing tax and financial advice to clients
•Understand performance expectations and manage own work and work of others to meet expectations
•Performs a detailed review of team's work to ensure quality and thoroughness and completion of assignments within agreed timeframes
•Always aware of client's issues/problems and follows up on identified opportunities
•Annual total hours goal of 2400; 1700 billable

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in accounting
•Minimum of three (3) years of experience in public accounting focusing on preparation of corporate and individual tax returns
•CPA or CPA candidate
•Proficiency with computers including spreadsheet software programs
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience with ProSystem fx, CCH, RIA and/or Engagement
Job Requirements
•Able to successfully pass a criminal background check (following a conditional offer of employment)
•Speak fluent English in order to communicate with other employees and clients verbally and in writing
•Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment
•Remain in sedentary position for long periods of time; however, needs the ability to move around the office to access office equipment, attend meetings, etc.
•Frequent communication with others and clients regarding projects and work product
•Available to work moderate overtime throughout the year with heavier overtime requirements during busy seasons
