Rugby Architectural Building Products is Hiring an Outside Sales Representative (Illinois) Near Waukesha, WI

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 29 branches throughout the United States. We primarily sell lumber products for our customers to make beautiful things and build happiness.

In Rockford we do business as River City Millwork.

Position: We are growing! We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative for our Millwork and Doors, responsible for growing business and selling our product line in the territory of southern Wisconsin and western Illinois.

Your Day-to-Day: to excel in this role, you will need to...

  • Sell our products to current customers in the region through a focus on customer service. In charge of sales throughout the territory, you will be rewarded based on your ability to manage sales throughout the region and customer base.
  • Grow sales by increasing our customer base to new customers - as an Outside Sales Representative you will be expected to call on potential new customers throughout the territory.
  • Communicate the needs of the customer with the branch to better ensure optimized product mix and increase future sales.
  • Communicate with inside sales staff to ensure a coordinated and synchronized sales effort. Our Outside Sales Representatives lead the conversation and develop our business through sales growth and customer service.
  • Accompany vendors’ sales representatives as needed, calling on appropriate customer accounts to satisfy vendor concerns.

  • You have experience in Outside Sales in millwork and/or doors.
  • You are competitive with a drive to win!
  • You have a minimum of 2-4 years sales experience, ideally in an outside sales or territory sales role, and ideally in the construction sales industry or building materials industry.
  • You have knowledge of millwork, and understand 2-step distribution.
  • You can travel as needed throughout the territory.
  • You have excellent customer service skills, with knowledge of DMSi Agility software a plus.
  • As you will be driving a company vehicle, we consider this a Safety Sensitive position, subject to routine drug screening.
