We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues, ensuring our products meet both internal and customer specifications.
- Quality Control & Assurance: Oversee quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with established quality standards and customer requirements. This includes conducting inspections, reviewing data, and performing audits at various stages of the production process.
- Process Improvement: Analyze production processes and identify areas for improvement in quality, efficiency, and cost reduction. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as needed.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate product quality failures or issues, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with the production team to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Product Testing & Inspection: Perform or coordinate the testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products. Develop, implement, and maintain test procedures and guidelines.
- Supplier Quality Management: Work with suppliers to ensure raw materials meet quality standards. Assist in evaluating and qualifying new suppliers.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and quality audits. Generate reports and provide data analysis to management for continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Compliance & Regulatory Requirements: Ensure all products meet relevant regulatory and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA, etc.). Keep up to date with changes in quality standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Training & Support: Provide training to production teams on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices. Act as a mentor for junior quality engineers and technicians.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and R&D teams to address quality concerns, improve processes, and enhance product performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience with quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and techniques (e.g., SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis, failure mode analysis).
- Familiarity with quality management systems and industry standards.
- Proficiency in using measuring and testing equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods during working shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. or 50 lbs. in tandem.
