Dairy Technical Support/Sales ConsultantAs our dairy industry continues to evolve, so does our approach to our customers and our business. The successful candidate in this role will be responsible for expanding our ***adult cow*** market share by supporting our staff, based on nutritional services and product positioning in a growing SW Dairy Region; A key dairy hub for the U.S. dairy industry. Purina Animal Nutrition provides technologies & tools for success that include Dynamic Ration Balancing Software, proprietary product offerings, technical innovation, and tools to fulfill a consultative approach with leading Dairy producers.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the dairy nutritional technical support throughout the SW Region. You will help grow our clientele with specific end users and prospects through a consultative approach supporting overall technical leadership with Purina Dairy Sales Specialists, Key Dealers, and their staff as well as producers.

*This position is remote (virtual) and can work from home but must be located within the SW US Territory*

**Additional responsibilities include:**

* Work closely with our Area Sales Manager and Sales Professionals in providing technical support, education, and solutions for producers.

* Work both individually and through Sales Professionals, helping dealers/ co-op customers and prospects to mutually benefit by providing the right recommendations for nutrition and species management practices.

* Be the lead in nutrition and specie education for the sales team and our dealer group.

* Partner in the Organization and conducting of producer events that promote best practice for nutrition and management; including field trials to demonstrate the profitability of the product line.

* Serve as a key liaison with the dairy industry.

* Communicate with the Purina Dairy technical team and research staff to lead innovative research and product development; both in the field and at the Purina Research Center in St. Louis, MO.

* Maintain a high level of proficiency and competency in nutrition, production management, and selling skills through recommended training and verified by documented sales results.

* Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or requested.

* Manage key accounts under your nutrition consultation with staff support as needed depending on the size of the account.

**Experience-Education-Skills:**

* Masters or PHD degree in ruminant nutrition

* Dairy nutrition experience along with 3 years industry and/or university experience

* Ability to work in the field with producers and our Dairy Sales Specialists

* Daily travel within the region and occasional travel outside of the region for professional conferences and technical events with our organization (up to 30-40% overnight travel)

* Must be able to lift and carry 50-pound bags of feed as needed.

* Computer skills; including ration balancing and Office applications (Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.).

* Provide strategic and tactical planning skills necessary to provide solutions-based selling of value-add technologies

Salary is negotiable based on experience
