Rural Mutual is looking for an experienced, well-rounded Manual/Automation Test Engineer who will develop and maintain manual and automated test scripts and assist in all aspects of System testing, Regression testing and UAT testing.

You will work to review system requirements and maintain traceability metrics and assist Business Analysts in designing and reviewing design documents while implementing and executing test plans and test cases.

Establish goals and objectives for appropriate testing cycles, define and maintain test standards and quality assurance tasks. If you're passionate about testing and fostering a collaborative work environment and delivering high-quality solutions, we encourage you to apply.

Compensation:

$70,000 - $80,000 yearly based on experience

Responsibilities:
  • This position involves both manual and automated testing, including the creation and execution of test cases, defect identification, documentation, and collaboration with the Development team to address software deficiencies throughout testing cycles. 
  • Develop and maintain repeatable and scalable automated test suites, generate manual test scenarios and test cases in a format that can be automated. 
  • Proficiency in developing automated tests using any other AI tools such as Testim. 
  • Automation Framework is crucial to ensure thorough test coverage across all functionalities, performance, and user experience aspects before release. 
  • You will collaborate closely with Business Analysts and development teams to identify and review system requirements. 
  • Participate in Requirement Validation sessions and Design sessions, review the documents and finding the gaps.
  • Contribute to the entire Software Development Life Cycle from Initial Business Requirements to deployment & production support. 
  • Define best practices for automated testing, including test data management, test environment setup, and test case design. 
  • Perform System testing for medium to large projects. Identify, communicate, and escalate risks and issues.
  • Perform Regression testing when needed in different stages of SDLC in different environments.
  • Assist BA’s in creating UAT test cases that cover the essential business scenarios/use cases. Must be involved in recreating the bugs and coordinating with BA's and Developers and Users to resolution.
  • Identifying the bugs and tracking the bugs and being responsible for retesting and resolving the bugs. Rerun the scripts when the bugs are resolved to make sure scripts run successfully without any errors. 
  • Analyze test results. Troubleshoot, and report defects in a timely manner.
  • Assist with Production support calls by investigating and recreating or retesting the reported bugs.
  • Monitor and analyze test results to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. 
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in test automation and incorporate them into the automation strategy. 
  • Identify effective test strategies for new/existing features & craft test plans accordingly.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant QA experience, with 2-3 years dedicated to automation testing. 
  • Preferred candidates with experience in the Insurance Industry. 
  • Familiarity with AI codeless automation tools such as Testim.
  • Has experience writing test scripts using C# or Java.
  • Experience with writing basic SQL queries and a good understanding of relational databases. 
  • Expertise in designing and implementing automated testing solutions using Selenium.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively conveying issues to stakeholders and development teams, particularly regarding automated testing results. 
  • Agile/Scrum testing experience using Azure DevOps. 
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a critical approach to software behavior and testing strategies. 
  • Attention to detail and a dedication to software quality, demonstrated through comprehensive testing and validation practices.
