Summary: The Research Education Coordinator under the supervision of the Research Education Components (REC) leader, will work closely with department faculty and administration to ensure the goals and objectives specified for the programs are accomplished following established priorities, time limitations, funding, or other specifications. The coordinator will communicate between the departmental group, external collaborators, and program participants to actively support daily activities and operations. In addition, the Research Education Coordinator should exemplify the Rush mission, vision, values, and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Responsibilities: Responsible for the coordination, promotion, and documentation of research training and academic engagement programs to facilitate the training of the next generation of Alzheimers researchers Assist with the development of research training and academic engagement programs and tracking for employees, volunteers, interns, and students at the RADC. Responsible for coordination of all activities and schedules for program participants (interns, trainees, mentees, and scholars) such as interviews, research and community observations, lectures, and other training activities. Maintain communication with program participants, mentors, applicants, and alumni via email and listservs. This includes before, during, and after program participation. Assist with developing, managing, and improving programs application process including advertising, screening, selection, and onboarding. Collaborate with administration to determine processing of program participants, via requisitioning process, volunteer process, and/or contracting. Collaborate with Rush volunteer department to request positions and process onboarding for volunteer. Assist with hiring and onboarding process of all program participants, including compensation alignment and process and travel arrangements with the assistance of the administration staff. Document program outcomes through tracking trainees progress, metrics, creating and maintaining web forms, and monitoring program applications. Providing routine program progress to REC leaders and administration through meetings, reports, and grant support.
