Russell Tobin is seeking a Lab Technician (Extrusion) for an American multinational conglomerate operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, healthcare, and consumer goods.
Job Title: Lab Technician (Extrusion)
Location: St. Paul, MN (on-site)
Job Type: Contract
Est. Start Date: September 2024
Length: 12-Months
Hours: 7am – 4pm, Mon-Fri
Pay Rate: $23 - $27 per hour
Overview:
Scope of the job is support running a larger pilot/laboratory line. The most ideal candidate has previous hands-on experience in a polymer processing/extrusion lab. Nice-to have skills are: PLC/controls understanding
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a safe working environment in a large research laboratory.
- Working closely with technical team members to plan and execute experimental trials related to polymer extrusion, coating, casting, and film forming.
- Supporting the development of extrusion technologies and processes.
- Preparing and operating experimental, prototype or production equipment. Provides general maintenance, setup, and changeover of equipment.
- Locating defects or problems during the manufacturing process.
- Makes adjustments to correct the problem.
- Performing sample testing. Interprets and provides feedback on quality results. Adjusts machinery to meet specifications based on test results.
- Maintaining records of run conditions and quality test results. Produces necessary reports.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and experience:
- Prior extrusion experience is highly preferred
- Mechanical inclination, Attention to detail, Works well in teams
- High School Diploma
