What are we looking for in our Quality Technician?
Job Title: Quality Technician
Work Setup: 100% Onsite
Shifts Available:
- B Shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm
- C Shift: 10:00 pm – 6:30 am
- Training on A Shift: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
Compensation: Up to $22/hr
Employment Duration: Contract (1 year) with a high possibility of extension or conversion to Permanent.
Compliance Requirements:
- Candidates must be compliant with DOD/ITAR requirements.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Steel toe shoes (not reimbursed), safety glasses (non-prescription provided), and clean room gown (provided).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and enter data into the process management system.
- Administer the plant change management process by taking and reviewing change requests, scheduling and facilitating change reviews, and assigning/tracking follow-up actions.
- Drive improvements to change management processes, including transitioning to utilizing the Windchill system to administer changes.
- Provide administrative and hands-on support in managing discrepant material flow.
- Evaluate and sort quarantined components identified as suspect.
- Lead or support projects aimed at improving plant quality systems.
- Intake and process product returns.
- Conduct process and ISO 9001 internal audits.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of QA experience, Quality Tech experience, or inspection in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with Windchill preferred; experience in optics preferred.
- A stable job history is very important.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in manufacturing or inspection of precision optics, mechanics, or systems.
- Ability to query data from Excel and relational databases.
- Experience with quality systems such as Windchill, ETQ, or others.
- ISO 9001 experience.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong understanding of relational databases and Excel.
- Efficiency and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to perform light-duty tasks in inspection or production.
- Effective meeting facilitation skills.
- Process-driven mindset with a passion for implementing process improvements.
- Positive interaction and communication with others.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the position.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
