RWE is Hiring a Regional IT Manager US (m/f/t) Near Chicago, IL

RWE Supply & Trading AmericasTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentJob PurposeReporting to the Head of IT, lead the cross domain team of IT staff based in Chicago acting as the local manager responsible for all personnel activities, including hiring and the year-end process. The Regional Manager ensures the local team in Chicago is setup as a high performing team.
Act as a single point of contact for the business in Chicago to agree on priorities and ensure the teams are delivering accordingly. Ensure that the local team in Chicago is following RWE global IT-standards and is fully aligned with the relevant teams in Europe.
Your Future Responsibilities
  • Lead a matrix managed team that has local business requirements in Chicago and very close connections to the Domain teams in Europe
  • Accountable for the optimal Chicago set up to deliver services, and adapt as required based on organisational needs
  • Responsible for the people management and development of individual team members, adhering to the RWEST standards
  • Take responsibility for managing where necessary, conflicts or escalations on priority and decisions within the team
  • Forster a supportive team atmosphere and culture. Promote the RWE Essential Behaviours.
  • Balance the local business need with the aim for standardised global processes and applications
  • Align future financial planning and cost allocation activities for your team with the relevant Domain team leads in Europe as well as with local stakeholders
  • Provide the necessary vision and connection of the team to the wider RWEST IT organisation and alignment against company strategy
  • Provide an environment for the self-organising squad to take responsibility for delivering robust, reliable and high-quality services more frequently to the customer
  • Be a leadership role model for all RWEST behaviours, particularly open to providing and receiving feedback
  • Accountable for strong, collaborative, trustful relationships within the delivering Domains and senior stakeholders within IT and Chicago
  • Contributing to RWEST IT-wide strategic topics as part of the RWEST IT TL community
  • IT areas to cover: Embedded IT, Data IT, ETRM, BO, Risk and Site Reliability Engineering making sure that IT systems needed for decision making, deal booking to deal processing are working in line with global processes and targets and local requirements
Your Powerful Skills
  • Experience of building a high performing team in a “remote” location ideally with experience in matrix management
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of building working relationships,
  • promoting and improving interaction with other IT Teams, your peers and key business stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a values and performance based organisation leading by example
  • Demonstrate Customer focus while ensuring long-term IT maintainability and standards
  • Proven influencing and negotiation skills aiming for win-win outcomes
  • Experience of implementing a global IT strategy on a local level
  • Strong ability to tailor your communication to the audience
  • Be able to explain, and demonstrate experience of applying various problem solving and decision making techniques
