Job Overview:
Outpatient Behavioral Health Department. The Advanced Practice Nurse or Clinical Nurse Specialist (APN or CNS) provides an advanced level of nursing care based upon graduate education and broad experience with behavioral health patients and their families. The APN/CNS practices in collaboration with the physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. The APN/CNS practices and conforms to the guidelines set by the NJ Board of Nursing (NJSA 13:37) for the regulation of nurses in advanced practice as Nurse Practitioners/Clinical Nurse Specialists. The APN is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physicians. The NP provides behavioral health care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients.25/hr outpatient behavioral health clinic provider, additional weekend coverage required.
Qualifications:
Experience with comorbid conditions, Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorder medication management.
Registered Professional Nurse with a current NJ state license; CDS and DEA.
