Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physicians. Provide urological care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management abilities to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients. Meets all requirements on competency skills checklist.

Job Requirements:

• Master s degree in Nursing required with certification of NP/APN/CNM.
• Three to five years prior experience in related health care setting required.
• Active New Jersey License/eligibility for National Certification in specialty if applicable.
• BLS required

Scheduling Requirements:

• Work in the office seeing patients and assist in the OR,
• Mon-Fri,
• 7:30am-3:30pm with at home on-call
• Hours are subject to change based on department needs*

Essential Functions:

• The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for taking H&Ps, administering medications, performing medical exams, and participating in flow of patients thru the practice
• Performing procedures such as changing foleys and SPTs, administering and teaching various urological drugs and other small procedures.
• Assist physician by recording patient progress notes, and issues diagnostic orders.
• Billing for patient services based on CMS and NJ State Board Regulations.
• Assists with various counseling and education functions.
• Demonstrates satisfactory knowledge and judgement to provide appropriate care for patients.
• Ensure that all medical record documentation is completed within the appropriate time frame.
• Writes medication orders on patients and prescribes medications. Assists in obtaining authorization for medications
• Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
• Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively. Organizes daily schedule and demonstrates time management.
