Overview
Established in 1982, our company is located in Ontario, California that specializes in green-waste recycling, compost production and soil remediation. We currently run five locations with a staff complement of 100. We are currently seeking a dedicated occupational and workplace safety manager to cover our facilities in the Southern California and Ontario regions.

Responsibilities
• Independently oversee the developing, proposing, and implementing policies, procedures, guidelines, and handbooks for our facility general safety programs including, but not limited to, serving as an advisor to facility directors and offsite facility management and personnel on emergency, safety, and security response for a variety of health and emergency related issues.

• Act as the company’s Health and Safety representative with external agency representatives, such as the Fire Marshall, CHP, DOT, CAL OSHA.

• Conduct safety inspections of all of our company locations to identify all existing and potential safety hazards, and conduct safety meetings.

• Coordinate and maintain the company’s ergonomic program policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as its First Aid/CPR/AED program.

Qualifications
• Minimum of two (2) years of occupational and workplace safety experience beyond the trainee level in environmental health or occupational safety improvement activities in a recycling or waste processing facility.

• Knowledge of principles and techniques of industrial health and safety; training methods and techniques; California laws, including Workers' Compensation, DMV regulations, DOT regulations, new employee training, relating to safety; principles of supervision; statistical methods; operational objectives; and the processes available to meet affirmative action objectives.

· The office and processing site is located in Ontario, California.

Compensation

• Salary based on qualifications and experience.

• A bonus program will also be part of the compensation for this job.
