TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer, Extrusion

We are looking for a manufacturing engineer who has at least four years of experience working with extrusion. This newly created role is open due to growth and will be a key member of our team that will be developing our next generation of products.
Main Responsibilities

• Design new products from an extrusion standpoint with a focus on overall efficiency.
• Support manufacturing operations by improving overall equipment effectiveness.
• Play a key role in investigating defective products then perform root cause analysis to figure out the issue and perform recommendations on how to fix the defects.
• Assist with design reviews.
• Assist with the research, purchasing and procurement of new manufacturing equipment.
• Utilize CAD programs to create designs when needed.
• Develop cost models and perform time studies.
• Mentor, coach, and help develop 4 junior-level engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is a plus but is not required. Experience is more important than education for this.
• 5 years in a similar role.
• 2 years of experience being a subject matter expert on your team with regard to polymers, chemistry, etc.
• Must understand lean principles. Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred but not required as experience is more important than the certificate.
• Desire to mentor up-and-coming engineers.
