As a Customs Manager at RXO, you will facilitate and prepare customs entries, ensuring they are properly documented, classified and compliant with federal regulations. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Prepare customs entries for all import shipments to be submitted to and released from U.S. Customs in a timely manner
- Document the review and assess accuracy by verifying country of origin/export, IOR, terms of sale and value to ensure compliance with federal regulation requirements
- Ensure that all entries are properly classified by using company profiles, Customs Rulings Online Search System (CROSS), the internet and communicating with the importer of record
- Develop and maintain customer profiles based on the customer's shipment history; coordinate with customers to classify new commodities according to HTS
- Answer any Brokerage-related inquiries both internally and externally
- Assist with compliance matters, including verifying power of attorney, conducting in-depth research, and developing classification
- Educate customers on Brokerage operations to help increase sales
- Customs Brokerage license
- 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Windows applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project), including creating complex formulas in Excel
- Solid knowledge of customs and participating government agency regulations, and the harmonized tariff schedule
- Knowledge of accounting functions and relative information retrieval
- Associate or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent related work or military experience
- 2 years of experience in a supervisory or specialist role
- Project management experience
- Experience handling customer escalations and root cause analysis
