Position Summary:
The Policy Processing Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient processing and administration of insurance policies. The role manages the team of policy processing professionals, ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines, and resolves any discrepancies or issues that arise during the policy processing cycle. They collaborate with various teams to identify data trends, improve efficiency, mitigate risks, streamline processes, and enhance customer experience.

What will your job entail?
Responsibilities:
- Manages and oversees the policy processing department, ensures efficient and accurate processing of insurance policies in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Supervises and provides guidance to policy processing staff, including training, performance evaluations, and resolving any issues or discrepancies in policy processing.
- Ensures timely issuance of insurance policies to customers, including verifying policy applications, underwriting criteria, and policy documentation.
- Implements quality control measures to ensure accuracy and completeness of policy documents, including reviewing policies for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with underwriting guidelines.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements in policy processing workflows, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensures compliance with insurance regulations, industry standards, and company policies in policy processing activities, including staying updated on regulatory changes and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Addresses customer inquiries and issues related to policy processing, collaborating with other departments such as customer service and claims to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Manages and maintains policy data and records accurately and securely, including electronic and physical filing systems.
- Generates and analyzes reports related to policy processing metrics, such as turnaround time, accuracy rates, and productivity, to monitor department performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborates with other teams in underwriting, claims, sales, and IT to streamline processes, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Provides training and development opportunities for policy processing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of insurance products, policies, and procedures.
- Assists with internal and external audits of policy processing activities, including providing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Insurance Business Operations or Claims Policy Processing with 3 years of experience as supervisor or lead is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred; Business Operations, Sales, Business Administration preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Preferred: Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR)
