Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years experience in maintenance or any appropriate combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of electricity and electrical troubleshooting up to and including 480 VAC
- Ability to run conduit and size wiring accordingly to circuit demands and within the boundaries established by the National Electrical code
- Experience in troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems from proper set up to I/O validation
- Ability to cut and weld stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment and forklifts by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing equipment in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments, leveraging maintenance and operations manuals.
- Ability to leverage external support such as OEM, vendor service technicians, other site best practices, and outside experts to ensure maximum equipment performance.
- Repair of equipment may require using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools as well as minor fabrication such as bending, welding, drilling and fastening.
- Preventative maintenance procedures will require using rules, calipers, micrometers, pressure and flow instruments and light electrical such as voltage and ohm meters.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Controls downtime by performing timely preventative maintenance and enhancing PM procedures as new failure points are identified.
- Communication with other functions is a necessity such as planning and scheduling PM and corrective repairs, talking with operators to understand issues, and train operators on proper techniques to keep the machine running properly.
- Prepares downtime maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Fabricates repair parts as needed by using machine shop equipment.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
