Position OverviewThe benefits coordinator will assist in the planning, development, tracking, communication and administration of employee benefits and leave programs in the US.
Job Duties
  • Oversee and assist employees with enrolling in our benefits self-enrollment system upon hire, during qualifying events as well as annually during open enrollment
  • Answer employee questions about benefit programs and leave eligibility. This may include conducting planned or one-off presentations and meetings to explain benefits.
  • Develop ongoing benefit communication channels and materials needed to foster positive attitudes towards the Company benefits package.
  • Resolve employee benefit claims issues directly or with insurance brokers, vendors, carriers and/or others relevant to the benefit plan in question
  • Participate in the development of benefit and leave related training materials and educational resources for in person and web-based training options.
  • Maintain records and compile reports concerning personnel-related data pertaining to benefits and employee leaves.
  • Assist in analyzing data and utilization reports to develop recommendations for change or improvement in benefit offerings.
  • Support and assist in periodic benefit audits and required follow up actions as needed
  • Assist in preparing, updating and maintaining benefit and leave related records, required reporting, policies, processes and handbooks.

  • Benefits and ERISA Laws - Knowledge of where to look to obtain information pertaining to legal compliance and procedures of benefit and leave programs

  • Administrative - Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, spreadsheet proficiency, and designing forms and internal communications.

Qualifications
  • Required:
    • High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of consecutive experience in human resources, customer service or related job duties
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field
    • Ability to obtain PHR/SHRM-CP within 2 years of hire
    • Experience with Google Gmail, Google Workspace products, Microsoft Excel
