Job Summary
The Maintenance Instrument Electrician (Journeyman) is responsible for the electrical maintenance of manufacturing equipment and support systems within assigned areas. Candidates must safely and effectively troubleshoot and repair designated equipment. Candidates will complete work orders and document findings, actions and feedback. Candidate will perform preventive maintenance tasks and help identify and implement reliability improvements. Candidate must understand and comply with OHSA and company policies and procedures. Job assignments may include work in chemical operations and plastic compounding/extrusion. Will complete monthly written and trainer presented safety training. Should possess good written and verbal communication skills to examine a work order and discuss with equipment operators to determine if mechanical, electrical, or human errors contributed to the problems. The position requires ability to organize and plan your work. An Instrument Electrician will be graded on their ability to effectively manage the time it takes to complete a task. A good history and feedback loop on work performed is necessary for the maintenance organization to grow and get better so a technician must be detail oriented and determined to complete this task daily.
