Sacoma Specialty Products is Hiring a Machine Operator Near Edinburgh, IN
PurposeThe machine operator is responsible for safely performing machine setups and operating resistance welders, MIG welders, and assembly equipment. The operator must also control and adjust the functions and settings of machines and ensure products meet our quality standards regarding assembly specifications.
Essential Functions
- Set up and operate resistance welders, MIG welders, assembly/automated equipment
- Perform machine set-ups as needed when the production schedule demands.
- Troubleshoot machines and adjust the functions and settings of machines
- Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines
- Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
- Participate in 5S activities
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 1 years of previous relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior welding or assembly experience desired.
- Working knowledge of resistance and MIG welders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
- Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
- Attention to detail
- Must have excellent attendance as well as willingness and ability to work overtime and cross-train
Physical SummaryWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, use his/her hands, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; occasionally required to walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, or kneel. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing capacity is required to maximize the ability to understand all verbal communication and react accordingly.
