What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Saddle River Medical Group LLC?
Saddle River Medical Group is currently seeking a full-time candidate for the position of Receptionist. The candidate is expected to be able to gather front desk information as needed, assist in daily patient calls and check-ins/check-outs, vital patients, and perform EKG's as needed. Training for the front desk and office flow will be provided. The applicant will need to be fully available to be present in the office any time from Monday - Friday 8 AM to 6 PM. Office hours are subject to change and vary daily within the above mentioned time frame. Average hours per week are approximately 30-35 hours. The duties will be as follows:
- HIPAA compliance
- Greet patients
- Scheduling
- Gather insurance information and payments and reconcile
- Verify and understand insurance eligibility
- Create and maintain patient appointments within the available schedule directed by the supervisor
- Perform medication prior authorizations
- Answering phones and relaying messages to the providers and/or supervisor
- Communicate with supervisor regarding important issues, policies, or procedures
- Flexibility to vital patients as needed (preferred)
- EKG (preferred)
- Vital Signs (preferred)
- Understand we are a team and require each other's assistance from time to time
- Gather information required for ordering supplies
- Maintain a professional, kind, respectful, and welcoming attitude with patients and other staff. We are a traditional practice and patient satisfaction is a priority.
- Assisting in maintaining a clean office environment as needed

- Medical assisting certificate preferred not but not required
Adequate knowledge of technology is a must as our EHR is a key component to the practice. The right candidate will be able to work independently on certain tasks and be a quick learner! Management will also be available to assist with any challenges as needed. It is imperative that every candidate applying has a clear understanding of HIPAA standards and patient health information confidentiality. Professional demeanor, cleanliness, and integrity are a must. Paid training will be provided for 1-2 weeks and as needed.
