DescriptionBusiness Banking Deposit Specialist - Hourly Range: $28.94 - $36.18Exact compensation may vary based on skill, experience and location.POSITION PURPOSEUnder the direction of the Business Banking Assistant Manager, the Business Banking Deposit Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Business Banking team with the centralized business account opening and maintenance process. They will be responsible for opening business accounts through Xpress Accounts (XA, Meridian Link) online channel and DNA. They will vet all online business membership applications for eligibility, collect proper documentation, and process business account opening. They will also be responsible for all business account maintenance requests, sourcing sales and finding referral opportunities with SAFE business members.
Essential Functions And Basic Duties
  • Support a centralized business account and maintenance process through appointment setting in TimeTrade.
  • Support a centralized business account application process for Xpress Accounts (XA) from the Online Channel.
  • Support existing business members with all maintenance requests such as opening additional deposit accounts, updating entity documents, updating authorized signers, through DNA.
  • Conduct probing conversations in relation to business purpose and activity to determine risk and eligibility.
  • Utilize internet resources including state, county, federal, vocational, licensing, and social media sites to collect required information and documentation to appropriately vet the business member.
  • Support Business Banking and Commercial Lending portfolio business members with business account and maintenance requests.
  • Establish membership for Commercial Lending members.
  • Perform pre-calls on TimeTrade appointments to establish the process and documentation requirements with the business member.
  • Follow up with members proactively by monitoring XA applications and TimeTrade appointments while adhering to SLAs.
  • Identify member needs proactively and/or concerns that require leadership involvement.
  • Perform reviews and self-assessments on new business accounts and updates to existing business accounts and documentation completed within Business Banking
  • Possess extensive knowledge of SAFE’s Business Account policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of Credit Union Business Membership Eligibility.
  • Knowledge of products and services offered to business account members.
  • Cross training on Business Lending Products including Business VISA and Business Auto
  • Inform and explain denials to business member applicants.
  • Create, administer, and send denial letters to non-responsive and unqualified business member applicants.
  • Perform Site Visits at member business location as applicable.
  • Evaluate referrals for cross-sale opportunities to SAFE’s internal business partners and third-party vendors (Merchant Services, Payroll Services,).
  • Support Business Banking Assistant Manager with requested administrative duties or business member related items.
QualificationsRequired Knowledge: Two to three years of personal/business banking experience. Experience with complex business entity documentation and account screening (adhering to Compliance and BSA requirements).

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Meridian Link, TimeTrade, Nautilus, DNA, LexisNexis, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assist in resolving issues and improve overall servicing; strong knowledge of quality control techniques and the ability to analyze business member accounts, activity, etc. to provide superior member service.
