At American Van we offer a range of high-quality, road-tested van shelving and storage products. General contract service companies and fleet operators have been relying on American Van's safe and secure cargo van and work truck storage solutions since 1978. We strive to meet all interior storage requirements with our road-tested products, guaranteed to withstand long term heavy usage on the highways. Our van shelving systems are factory pre-assembled for quick and easy installation into any vehicle.
Summary: The Packaging Operator supports the packaging operations within our Shipping and Receiving department using a custom cardboard box making machine to manufacture on demand boxes.
Responsibilities:

• Supporting the packaging operations for a wide variation of manufactured products and goods.
• Performing inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits
• Prepare cardboard boxes to future shipping needs
• Operate and maintain preventively warehouse equipment
• Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Available to work from 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday (some overtime and weekends required)
• 6 months experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multitask and perform any assigned task
• Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 lbs
• High School Diploma, or equivalent

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Be ready to work and on time for your shift.
• Be reliable and show strong attention to detail.
• Be able to operate machinery
• Be able to bend and stoop to fasten large parts
• Be able to lift 50 lbs continuously.
• Experience with production or assembly work is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; Reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and lift up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
PPE REQUIREMENTS: In compliance with OSHA standards it has been determined that Safety glasses and footwear are required on the plant floor.
