SAFE HARBOR MARINAS is Hiring a Facilities Assistant (Electrician) Near Savannah, GA

The Facilities Assistant (Electrician) assists the electrical expert in carrying out electrical work for the Marina. Provides preventive maintenance to all phases related to electrical development and make necessary repairs in the electrical area as requested by the Facilities Manager. This role may also be referred to as Technician (Electrician).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Provide preventive maintenance to all electrical areas of the company
  • Repair and maintenance of transformers
  • Maintenance of electrical pedestals in the dock area, as established in the department's work plan
  • Maintenance of the entire lighting system of the Marina, such as parking lot, dock area, Boatyard, offices, and rental rooms
  • Cooperate in maintaining inventory of the electrical equipment warehouse
  • Availability to work overtime in order to meet deadlines
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

  • Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area. 
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately. 

Technical and Physical Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience preferred
  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Electrical Technician Certification, preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
