Safe Passage Children's Advocacy Center is Hiring a Clinical Director Near Colorado, CO

POSITION TITLE: Clinical Director

SALARY RANGE: $83,000-$88,000 DOE

SUPERVISED BY: Executive Director

BASIC FUNCTION: The Clinical Director is responsible for leading the mental health program at Safe Passage Children’s Advocacy Center and ensuring high-quality care to children impacted by child abuse. This position will supervise one full time licensed mental health therapist. This position is also responsible for providing therapy to children who have experienced child abuse. The Safe Passage Clinical Director will provide consultation to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and will also lead community education efforts to include but not be limited to trainings and media outreach.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Master’s degree in social work or psychology field plus five years’ experience practicing with children who have experienced trauma required. Colorado certification, in good standing, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

· A minimum of three years’ experience supervising clinicians and providing program leadership

· Certification in a trauma based therapy protocol is preferred. Completion of this requirement within one year of hire is acceptable and expected in order to provide adequate clinical supervision.

· Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team of clinicians, including clinical supervision

· Highly motivated, possessing organization skills with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively and with discretion

· Independent worker and ability to function as a team player with initiative and flexibility

· Advanced knowledge of the clinical treatment of trauma in children

· Knowledge of child abuse; child protective and law enforcement investigative procedures; and the legal reporting mandates for professionals.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Computer literacy

· Willingness and ability to stay current in relevant issues through live, on-line, and written training

· Commitment to the mission of Safe Passage, with a strong dedication to serving children impacted by child abuse

· Respect for diversity and commitment to providing culturally competent, inclusive services

· Possess a valid driver’s license and pass a national criminal background check

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide oversight and coordination of mental health services for Safe Passage

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the mental health department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services. Implement strategies to enhance service quality and patient satisfaction.

· Supervise licensed mental health therapist

· Coordinate across Safe Passage leadership team to ensure excellence of services.

· Maintain community service referral system for mental health referrals.

· Ensure Safe Passage mental health services and mental health community referral entities meet the requirements of National Children’s Alliance standards

· Address barriers to access at the individual and group level through direct communication and problem-solving with providers, Family Support Advocates, Caseworkers, parents/caregivers, and other involved parties.

· Triage cases and connect children and families to appropriate mental health services with MDT partner agencies and community providers.

· Ensure an effective and timely process for mental health referrals is always in place, including development and maintenance of a centralized scheduling system and oversight of the referral process to MDT and community-based providers

· Assist the MDT in assessing children’s risk for suicidal ideation and safety planning

· Provide immediate crisis intervention if needed during child abuse investigations at Safe Passage

· Conduct diagnostic evaluations related to treatment strategy

· Regularly attend internal team and leadership meetings and as requested, meetings of the board of directors

· Assist with the development of resource materials, mental health manuals and assist with special projects

· Carry a limited case load of clients

· Regularly attend Case Review, Team and Staff meetings

· Testify in court proceedings when subpoenaed; provide expert testimony when requested

· Ensure compliance with relevant NCA guidelines and play a leading role in NCA accreditation processes related to mental health services.

· Receive ongoing training to ensure compliance with the NCA standards and best practices in the field of child sexual abuse.

· Gather data for monthly/quarterly grant reporting, ensuring reports are submitted in a timely manner.

· Ensure timely and effective mental health services are made available to all children who present with need and monitoring the effectiveness of mental health services delivered by Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) partners utilizing the standards set forth by the National Children’s Alliance (NCA) and other best practice guidelines.

· Assist Executive Director in researching and planning appropriate areas for program enhancement.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND TEAM BUILDING RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure a supportive and collegial working environment within Safe Passage

· Foster open and positive working relationships with, and knowledge of, team agencies, military bases, and communities in El Paso and Teller Counties.

· Foster strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and funding agencies.

· Represent the mental health program and the center in professional forums and community events.

· Develop and maintain highly productive and collaborative relationships with MDT and community-based mental health providers, orienting them to the needs of Safe Passage’s clients and supporting their service delivery.

· Develop and maintain professional relationships with area colleges and universities, including the coordination and supervision of internship programs helpful to mental health services at Safe Passage.

· Participate in media opportunities related to child abuse and mental health topics. This includes on camera interviews and written articles

· Cultivate mental health entities Safe Passage refers clients to by ensuring they meet current NCA standards; facilitate and/or provide training opportunities and peer review

· Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

· The ability to operate a vehicle

· The person in this position needs to be able to move around the entirety of Safe Passage to perform job functions.

· Operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine

· Ability to ascend and descend stairs

· Infrequently required to lift more than 25 pounds
