Safeguard Global Recruiting is Hiring an Inventory Control Manager Near Salt Lake, UT

Join a fast-growing, innovative medical device manufacturing company as our Manufacturing Inventory Manager. This pivotal role is essential for overseeing and enhancing inventory management processes at our state-of-the-art production facility. You will collaborate closely with managers, leads, and individual contributors across various departments, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities:

- Inventory Requests for Production: Collaborate with manufacturing and the main warehouse to request necessary inventory, ensuring timely restocking of a sub-warehouse every 1-3 calendar days.

- Managing Inventory in Production: Oversee and manage inventory levels within the production facility to ensure seamless manufacturing operations.

- Supply Chain Coordination: Ensure timely and accurate supply of materials and components to production lines.

- Receiving Inventory: Manage the receipt of inventory at the production facility, verifying quantities and quality.

- Maintain responsibility for inventory accuracy, including cycle counts and resolving any discrepancies within the production facility.

- Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI): Oversee VMI to ensure optimal inventory levels and avoid stockouts.

- New Product Introduction (NPI) Inventory: Handle inventory related to new product introductions, ensuring availability and accuracy during ramp-up phases.

- Shipping Preparation: Prepare and coordinate the shipping of inventory from the production facility to the main warehouse.

- Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, DC team, and engineering departments.

- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and implement best practices.

- Data Analysis and Reporting: Maintain accurate inventory records and generate regular reports on inventory status, usage, and trends.

- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to inventory management and storage. Promote a culture of safety and adherence to safety protocols.

- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of inventory control staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance. Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

- 10 years in inventory management in a manufacturing environment is essential.

- 5 years in management, with experience in cross-functional team collaboration.

- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.

- Exceptional knowledge and skillset using MRP and ERP systems.

- Proficiency in Excel and BI tools.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.

- Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries, with proficiency in working with both part numbers and traceable lot numbers.

Preferred Skills:

- Fluency in Spanish.

- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

- Familiarity with ISO, FDA, CE, GMED, or other regulatory bodies.

- Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

- Certifications and skills to operate warehouse equipment.

Working Conditions:

- Travel between our four facilities (2 miles apart) is required.

- A valid driver's license is necessary.

- Prior forklift and warehouse equipment experience is required.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

- Must be able to lift and move materials as required for inventory management tasks.
