SafeHaven of Tarrant County is Hiring a Children and Youth Services Coordinator Near Fort Worth, TX

SafeHaven is seeking a Children & Youth Services Coordinator.

This position oversees the activities of the children’s programs for the Fort Worth Shelter Services Program to ensure children served receive comprehensive advocacy that leads to their safety and overall wellbeing.

This position has significant responsibilities that includes supervision of the Children’s & Youth Services Program staff and ensuring a seamless delivery of services and programming that includes child advocacy; childcare; after-school, mentoring, support groups, and camp. Oversees the planning, implementation and evaluation of age appropriate, trauma informed services that is grant compliant and successfully meets the program goals and objectives.

The specific qualifications for this role are:

  • Master's degree in Child Development, Social Work or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Social Work or related discipline required.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in the field of family violence, victim services or related work required.
  • Must be knowledgeable of, and sensitive to, concerns of child development, domestic violence and child abuse.
  • Minimum one year supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge of Intimate Partner Violence, gender-based violence, and crisis intervention strategies required.
  • Ability to provide culturally competent services and work with diverse staff and clientele in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner.
  • Strong organization and time management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment.
