Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) Job Developer – LOCATION – IN-PERSON in Ann Arbor, Michigan Job Summary Our client is looking for a Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) Job Developer. This role is responsible for placing at-risk/homeless Military Veterans with employment barriers into employment and following their progress for a year. This role will also assist Veterans with employment related needs including resumes, cover letters, job applications, job training, salary negotiation, and/or asking for reasonable accommodations. This position reports to the HVRP Team Leader. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills along with the passion and creativity to help others. Responsibilities
Assesses Veterans for eligibility following DOL guidelines
Places eligible Veterans into appropriate employment opportunities
Provides professional guidance to at-risk Veterans with employment barriers
Observes and evaluates progress of individuals through documentation/reporting
Advocates for at-risk Veterans to receive accommodations as needed
Performs outreach with local businesses to fill their hiring needs and the client's employment needs
Assist with the creation of programs
Completes reporting requirements
Maintains positive relationships with clients’ employer and community partners
Regular and routine schedule as assigned
Driving clients to interviews and other appointments
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in the Human Service field is preferred
Minimum of one years’ experience working with Veterans or persons who are homeless and/or with a disability
Microsoft office
Valid Michigan driver’s license
