SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Under the general direction of the Quality Systems Manager, the Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the products meet the required quality standards before they reach the customer. This role involves conducting inspections, performing tests, documenting results, and implementing and maintaining a quality control, assurance, and improvement system. The Quality Control Associate also supports the development and execution of a quality training and awareness program and adheres to the TL 9000 Quality Management System Requirements.
SHIFT HOURS: 1st shift, M-F, 6am-2:30pm. Flexibility with schedule hours for training/overtime may be required depending on business needs. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspection and Testing:
  • Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Perform various tests and measurements to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Identify and document any defects or deviations from quality standards.
  • Alert line supervisors and site leadership of any quality escape as soon as they are detected.
  • Ensures all sample sizes and statistical sampling events are derived/planned using best practices.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality audits.
  • Prepare and submit quality reports summarizing inspection results and findings.
  • Capable of developing root cause and corrective action plans at any time per customer request, using documented Quality Management System guidelines, for any quality system deficiencies that may be detected.
  • Document, implement, and maintain a quality control, assurance, and improvement system which assures that the System(s), and Services provided to Verizon meet all performance standards and requirements, and perform in accordance with Specifications.
  • Implement a clear and efficient way to measure First Pass Accuracy (FPA) and other metrics.
  • Provides periodic reports for KPIs and test results as required.
  • Maintains a detailed inspection of production units to proactively identify root causes and to deliver a corrective action plan on any cosmetic, mechanical, or technical issues on delivered finished goods uncovered during any audit processes and communicate to Verizon in a timely manner.
Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure that products comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Implement and maintain the TL 9000 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Assist in internal and external audits to verify adherence to quality standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains the internal testing, inspection, and calibration results for inspection at any time. Identifies trends proactively with site leadership.
  • With site leadership, maintains a preventative maintenance plan for the test equipment, including cables, DUT power supplies, test SIM cards, etc.
  • Maintain data quality acceptance plan for each model type released and tester quality acceptance plans.
Process Improvement:
  • Assist in identifying areas for improvement in the production process to enhance product quality.
  • Support the development and implementation of quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Implement and maintain a continuous quality improvement system to ensure ongoing enhancement of product quality.
  • Maintains most current Operator work instructions, acceptance test criteria documents, test software and hardware sequence documents and C&S Service process for customer inspection if required and operator WIs at point of use.
  • Maintain a written plan for continuously assessing and improving the quality and reliability of Services. Supplier’s Quality Improvement Plan (“QIP”) shall incorporate and use a well-defined and written set of metrics.
  • Propose continuous improvement initiatives to help drive efficiency and cost savings within the supply chain process.
  • Maintain lessons learned documentation for major projects.
  • At the end of each year of operation, propose performance improvements.
  • Maintain a written plan for continuously assessing and improving the quality and reliability of services.
  • Quality Training and Awareness:
  • Assist in the development and maintain a quality training and awareness program and a continuous Quality Improvement Process
  • Promote quality awareness and best practices across the organization.
  • Provide training and resources to ensure employees understand quality standards and procedures.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the production team regarding quality control findings.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on quality-related topics.
  • Work with site leaders to produce reports such as gauge studies, golden unit runs, and line analytics shall be submitted monthly.
  • Host Customer's periodic on-site reviews.
  • With corporate QSM and PM approval, respond to customer-issued Supplier Corrective Action Requests (if any) in accordance with customer requirements.

  • Familiarity with quality control equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical test documents.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection and testing.
  • Ability to identify and analyze defects and deviations from quality standards.
  • Problem-solving skills to present solutions to issues in a concise manner to varying levels of leadership.
Communication Skills:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document findings clearly and concisely.
  • Capability to deliver quality training and presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and presenting quality data to stakeholders in an understandable manner.
Organizational Skills:
  • Strong Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or coursework in related field is a plus.
  • 1 years of experience in quality control or a related role in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience with quality management systems, particularly TL 9000.
  • Familiarity with implementing quality improvement systems and training programs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S and other continuous improvement program experience highly desired.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work in various environments, including the production floor.
  • Physical ability to perform inspections and tests, which may include lifting and standing for extended periods.
