Special Education Teacher, Classroom for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Sherwood Elementary School
Special Education classroom for grades K-2
This posting will remain up until the position is filled.
Required :
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with special education certification endorsed to teach students with autism spectrum disorder (SV).
Daily in-person attendance required.
This position is considered to be in an area of teacher shortage. District employees are encouraged to consider applying even if not currently certified in the specific area of instruction.
Temporary approval through MDE is available if the individual is not properly certified. If you have an interest in teaching in a Special Education position, please contact STCS Special Services at (989) 799-5511.
Compensation :
STEA Agreement currently provides annual salary of $44,037 Bachelor’s Degree (no previous teaching experience); $51,537 Master Degree, (no previous teaching experience).
The parties are currently negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement to be effective for the 2024-2025 and beyond,
Standard employee benefits.
Pursuant to Public Act 68 of 1993 and Public Act 83 of 1995, selected new employees shall submit to fingerprints and a criminal background check at the employee’s expense.
