Description
SAIC is seeking a Top Secret Cleared mid-level Systems Administrator who is skilled in managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, and has a strong understanding of system administration, with additional capabilities in light software development and testing. The work will be conducted at Point Mugu Naval Base in Camarillo, CA. Work is performed on site.

This position is contingent upon award news, expected in Spring/Summer 2025.

Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers
Manage and maintain IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux platforms
Perform System monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems
Review System and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
Manage and maintain Windows Active Directory environment and policies
Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
Implement and monitor cyber-security measures to protect data and system integrity
Carry out regular system updates and patching to keep the IT infrastructure up-to-date and secure
Participate in light software development and testing tasks to support our IT operations
Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve system issues
Develop and maintain system documentation for efficient operation and troubleshooting
Qualifications
General Position Requirements:
  • Mid Level Expertise in System Administration with minimum of five (5) years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer or Information Science field or a relevant technical discipline
    • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant Associate's Degree
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Required Technical Experience:
  • Strong understanding of network components, i.e., routers, switches, firewall
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux platforms
  • Understanding of cyber-security principles and practices with DOD guidelines
  • Familiarity with system patching and updating procedures
  • Light software development and testing skills, preferably with Cypress and Jest, 1-2 years of experience
Required Clearance:
  • Must have active TOP SECRET security clearance
  • Must have ship at the time of application


Desired Experience:
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security , Linux Professional Institute Certification) would be a plus
Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
