Saint John’s Program for Real Change mission is to provide a safe space for women and children to heal and develop the skills necessary to transform their lives. We accomplish our mission by holding to our vision to end the generational cycle of trauma and homelessness.

We operate the largest residential program for formerly homeless women and children in the Sacramento region providing services 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, offering shelter, meals, childcare, and comprehensive support services, including Behavioral Health Services, Hands-on Employment Training, Career Education, and Family Services.

TITLE Workforce Development and Alumnae Engagement Coordinator

SALARY $23-$30/ hour

CLASSIFICATION Full-Time, Non-Exempt

LOCATION On Site Only – Jackson Rd. Sacramento, CA

SCHEDULE Monday- Friday, day shift

About the Position…

The Workforce Development and Alumni Engagement Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing workforce development programs aimed at addressing the needs of individuals seeking employment, career advancement, and skill enhancement. The coordinator collaborates with stakeholders across various sectors to develop strategies that promote workforce readiness and contribute to an employment pipeline. In addition, this role involves fostering strong connections with program alumnae, providing guidance, and facilitating access to career resources.

Program Development and Management:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate workforce development programs tailored to meet the specific needs of target populations.
  • Develop comprehensive curriculum, training materials, and resources to support skill development, job readiness, and career advancement.
  • Administer on-site client career development initiatives.
  • Leverage on-site and external career training opportunities for clients.
  • Identify and cultivate new career opportunities for clients, fostering mentor relationships and expanding networks outside the organization.
  • Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to implement programs and projects effectively.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with employers, industry associations, educational institutions, and government agencies to identify workforce needs and establish partnerships.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster program participation and garner support.

Participant Support and Guidance:

  • Provide personalized career counseling, job placement assistance, and skill assessments to participants, aligning with their career goals.
  • Conduct workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching to enhance participants' employability skills, including resume writing, interviewing techniques, and job search strategies.
  • Facilitate the Job Readiness Program, teaching employability classes and providing job search coaching.
  • Promote workforce development connections through various outreach activities, and community events.

Alumnae Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between alumnae and Saint John's Program, maintaining close relations and support with the alumnae board.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for providing career progress, engagement and resources and support to alumnae.
  • Strengthen outreach efforts to former clients, fostering ongoing engagement with the organization.
  • Lead alumnae recruitment efforts, broadening participation through targeted initiatives.
  • Establish support systems such as mentor programs for current clients and resource-sharing networks among alumnae.
  • Manage and implement e-communications strategies, including maintaining the digital platforms.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data on program outcomes, participant progress, and workforce trends to drive program improvements and decision-making.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and grant communication to communicate program impact and secure funding.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, funding requirements, and program guidelines.
  • Monitor program performance and quality standards to maintain effectiveness and accountability.
  • Track client progress for development and case management purposes.

You must have..

  • Excellent ethics, organizational, and time management skills; professional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to remain objective, discrete and exercise common sense always. Able to develop strong, trusting relationships within the department and organization.
  • Previous experience working in a social services agency is highly preferred.
  • Work well handling multiple deadlines, while modeling professionalism and maintaining positive working relationships with the management team, staff volunteers, clients, affiliate contacts and the community.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Social Work, or related field; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a knowledge of Internet software and the Microsoft Office Suite of products. Knowledge of basic office equipment should include: Internet and email, copy and fax machines, postage meter and telephone.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A current CA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance are required.
