Saint joseph’s University Department of Biology has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester. Professionals with experience and a passion for teaching at the undergraduate level will be given preference. Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct one or two courses each semester on an " as needed" basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and also in the evening. Courses available for adjunct staffing may include:
Non- Major courses:
1. Bio 160 – Heredity and Evolution – an intoductory course in DNA, genetics and evolutionary principles.
2 Bio 161: The Human Organism- an elementary course in basic principles of human anatomy, physiology, and genetics.
3. Bio 165: Exploring the Living World – a lecture/Laboratory course covering the nature of science, cell biology and heredity, biodiversity, ecology, and human evolution and physiology
4. Bio 260-261: Anatomy and Physiology for Nursing and Allied Health I and II

Teaching a specified course
Preparation of materials
Providing support and guidance to students
Giving prompt, regular feedback to students about their academic performance
Reporting mid-semester grades and final grades electronically

Cooperating with course coordinators or other program faculty to assure quality and consistency across the program.

Master’s degree in Biology or a closely related field

ABD or PhD in an area of Biology
Previous teaching experience
Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling
