Your Role With Us:

The SHMG Access Program Manager will have primary ownership over projects, standards, reporting, and analyses related to patient access strategies and initiatives. This role establishes governance systems, helps to set goals and priorities, creates visibility to access metrics, and supports SHMG leadership and operations in executing the strategic vision of Salem Health Medical Group as it relates to patient access. By integrating lean principles, the Access Program Manager will identify and rectify inefficiencies in processes and continuously improve access metrics such as appointment wait times.

The SHMG Access Program ensures efficient and effective access to healthcare services for our patients. They are responsible for creating and maintaining access-related standards for SHMG Primary & Specialty Care, planning and implementing strategic access projects, and monitoring & reporting key access metrics to SHMG Leadership. They will work across departments to develop new reporting standards, and increasing access & visibility to patient access drivers and KPIs.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to break down, understand, and organize complex systems and propose solutions that align with strategic goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and metrics to identify trends and drive decision-making for process improvement.
  • Communication: Effective communication with clinical and administrative staff, as well as stakeholders, for collaboration and education on access management best practices.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to lead initiatives, implement changes, and ensure continuous improvement in access processes.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Systems: Deep understanding of healthcare systems, including scheduling software and regulatory requirements, to optimize patient access while ensuring compliance.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build relationships, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, and influence change to drive system-wide improvements in access to care.

Background/Expertise:

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive healthcare operations, with experience in access management, provider schedule administration, and/or access analytics & reporting - preferably in a medical group or ambulatory care setting experience required.
  • Experience with Epic Cadence and scheduling workflows highly preferred.
  • Experience analyzing data/metrics and creating and utilizing reports required.
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Masters Degree preferred
