Your Role With Us:

The responsibilities of the Trauma Program Nurse Manager include:

• Acts as primary liaison related to the Trauma Program and various related ED programs.
• Manages the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Trauma Program and ED programs in partnership with the Director, ED Manager, ANM’s, and related key stakeholders. Also manages and enhances community outreach to impact positive change related to Trauma Programs and the ED.
• Manages department staff and operations, monitors department financial viability and budget compliance, consistently adheres to and applies organizational policies, and ensures staff and department are informed about organizational goals and strategy work.
• Facilitates current knowledge of Trauma and Emergency Care best practices and keeps abreast of regulatory and legislature changes to communicate to the appropriate parties. Partners with the Director, ED Manager and ANM’s to develop and/or enhance Trauma Program and ED programs and services.
• Facilitates program interactions with other organizational stakeholders to promote Trauma Program and ED program goals. Acts as department representative on various committees and meetings throughout the organization and in the community.
• Serves as the central resource to the director to develop tools, processes, and systems to optimize Trauma Program and ED outcomes and strategic goals.
• Tracks, maintains, measures, and manages Trauma and ED program metrics
• Utilizes Lean tools and methodology
• Establishes and manages key physician partnerships to facilitate the improvement of key hospital outcomes including, but not limited to: Trauma Program and ED programs, A3 initiatives, and community partnerships. Facilitates program interactions with community services to promote Trauma Program and ED program goals. Serves on various community committees relevant to programs as needed.
• Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and skill in her/his professional field. Leads, implements, and rewards innovative approaches to work for self and staff.

Background/Expertise:

Education:

• Bachelor of Science - Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor of Arts in Nursing required. Will consider non-nursing Bachelor’s Degree with MSN.

Credentials:

• Registered Nurse - Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required or eligible for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
• Basic Life Support.
• Advanced Cardio Life Support - issued by the American Heart Association.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course - Issued by Emergency Nurses Association.
• AONE Cert Nurse Manager and Leader OR ANCC Nurse Executive b - Required within one year of eligibility.

Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years Critical Care or ED nursing experience required (ED nursing experience preferred).
• Two (2) years minimum progressive management experience required.
• Program development experience preferred.
