HOST - JOB DESCRIPTION AND EXPECTATIONS:

First and foremost our hosts are the first and last face the guest will see. A smile, warm hello and goodbye are extremely important!
As a host you must have our address, phone number, hours of operation, and weekly specials memorized
Our host’s are responsible for taking detailed reservations over the phone and in person. Becoming familiar with Open Table and making an educated decision on where the party’s will sit, as well as the timing of the reservations
Is responsible for informing servers and bartenders on guests arrival to ensure quick service
Should a party have special needs or requests, the host is responsible for informing the server taking care of the party and the manager on duty. This may include services like disabilities, food allergies, special occasions or accommodations for small children, etc.
As a host you are also responsible for taking detailed messages for the event coordinator and/or manger on duty. We get many phone calls for events happening in the restaurant or for information on booking a party. Use the “called about event” paper when taking a message of this nature.
Should inspect the dining room and restrooms before and during every shift (30 minute bathroom checks throughout shift). This includes windex-ing the glass doors, checking the bathrooms to make sure they are stocked and clean.
Should be able to jump in and assist where a manager has asked
Making sure water is stocked at the host stand for guests arrival
Making sure management knows of “open menu” counts, and the current status of reservations throughout the evening
