SALT Dental Partners is Hiring an Orthodontic Dental Assistant Near Jersey, NJ
The successful candidate should have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to ensure the safety of patients during orthodontic procedures as well as an ability to demonstrate patience and provide a safe and welcoming environment for patients. The candidate must also be willing to work in a highly fast-paced environment and be available during all open office hours:
- Monday 9am-5pm
- Wednesday 9am-6pm
- Friday 9am-5pm
- Every other Saturday 9am-2pm
- Maintaining accurate records of patients' oral health histories and treatment progress
- Ensuring that all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use
- Taking intraoral X-rays of patients' mouths
- Taking photographs of patients' teeth to aid the Orthodontist in developing treatment plans and to document patient progress
- Taking intraoral sans of patients' teeth for the fabrication of customized Invisalign and retainers
- Removing and replacing wires, coil springs, and elastic bands and placement of Invisalign attachments
- Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and braces aftercare
- Disinfecting patient areas and sterilizing orthodontic instruments
- Participating in office events such as community outreach efforts and continuing education courses
Expected hours: 35 per week
RequirementsRequirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience working as an orthodontic dental assistant
- Sound knowledge of various orthodontic procedures and practices
- Good manual dexterity
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Must speak Spanish
- Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)
- X-Ray Certification
- Coronal Polish
- Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
- Retirement Plan (401k)
- Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
- Short Term Disability
