Salt Lake City is seeking residents living in District 2 or 3 interested in joining the Planning Commission.
We are particularly interested in residents with related experience in: Architecture, Construction, Housing, Land Use Law, Nonprofit Work, Real Estate, Urban Design, and Urban Planning.
The Planning Commission plays a major role in short- and long-term development projects, ensuring all proposals implement the community’s vision of the City.
This role reviews, evaluates and makes decisions on proposed projects, and makes recommendations to City Council on zoning ordinance changes.
Meetings are held every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, generally from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (depending on number of cases being reviewed). In-person meetings are held at the City & County Building and dinner is provided.
Commission members are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council to serve a 4 year term. Compensation up to $500 per fiscal year is offered.
