Level III CAD Technicians will utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation to perform such surveying related duties as outlined under Level I and II technician description and as well as advanced surveying activities as identified below. Level III Technician requires minimal daily direction for completion of a final deliverable and has obtained detailed working knowledge of standard field and office procedures. Level III Technician has knowledge of principles of the profession and various technical standards as required to produce a quality product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Produce mortgage/improvement surveys and deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Maintain proactive attitude towards personal growth and the growth of the team.
• Ability to complete and provide guidance to other technicians for mortgage surveys.
• Ability to complete and provide guidance to other technicians for acreage, boundary, and NSPS ALTA surveys.
• Ability to complete metes and bound descriptions.
• Ability to manage the field data collection, analysis of boundary (determination by SIT/RPLS) and research requirements to produce a quality deliverable for review.
• Ability to manage multiple survey projects at once and meet company/client deliverable deadlines.
• Answer questions and provide information to clients and/or staff members regarding assessment of project and or/issues at hand.
• Coordinate with field crews as needs to obtain required field data.
• Correlate, interpret, and modify data obtained from topographical surveys.
• Ensure the correct surveying codes are being used in the field.
• Prepare of Survey Reports for Acreage, Boundary, NSPS Surveys.
• Understand how and why to post process field data through Trimble Business Center for all projects larger than mortgage survey.
• Use and ability to provide guidance on Trimble Business Center for all projects larger than mortgage survey.
• Review field data points for errors to project control and datum.
• Produce an existing geogrid surface from natural ground data collected in the field (DTM).
• Produce a proposed surface.
• Development and understanding of construction staking using computer aided design software.
• Development of cut-sheets for construction staking and provide to SIT for review.
• Establish project related field temporary benchmarks /field control.
• Actively pursue NSPS Certified Survey Technician (CST) Level III Certification.
• Perform horizontal and vertical traverse adjustments.
• Perform horizontal and vertical curve computations.
• Comply with and enforce all governmental laws, policies and regulations.
• Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to by you.
• All other duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D computer aid drafting software.
• Skilled with a minimum of 2.5 years of drafting experience or have obtained a certification in drafting utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
• Obtained a certification for Level II Technician for NSPS.
• Fast learner, team Player, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Efficiently schedule and manage his/her time.
• Excellent communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and customers by telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, crawling, and handling, sitting, pushing, and pulling. The employee may occasionally lift and/ or move up to 40 pounds.
