What you can expect as the Advanced Markets Attorney:

Responsible for driving sales by partnering with insurance agents and registered representatives of Sammons Financial Group Companies who are working with high net-worth and business owner clients. Provide advanced markets case support and education to financial advisors in the affiliated and independent distribution channels. Create marketing materials for advisor and client use on advanced markets strategies and concepts including estate planning, charitable planning, business succession planning, qualified planning and premium financing.

• Determine and execute on best course of action on how to strategically position business owner and affluent life sales strategies in a changing legislative and regulatory environment.
• Work directly with financial advisors and occasionally the client centers of influence (tax and legal counsel) and apply advanced markets solutions to individual client needs as it relates to estate planning, tax planning, retirement planning, business planning and charitable planning.
• Identify, research and develop advanced market strategies and concepts by leveraging industry meetings, subject matter experts, industry journals, trade publications, tax rulings and legislation.
• Present advanced marketing concepts and strategies to advisors.
• Ensure that advanced marketing materials and advanced marketing programs are following all applicable federal and state laws.
• Occasionally author articles on advanced marketing concepts.
• Consult with internal partners on product / rider designs as well as sales concepts.
• Travel as needed to present in the field and attend industry meetings.
• Work with third party relationships to amplify and position advanced markets concepts and strategies.

What we are looking for: 

• Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school required
• 5-10 years' Advanced Markets experience preferred
• Previous experience in Life Insurance preferred
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in Advanced Markets, including taxation, estate, retirement, and business planning expertise
• Strong writing, communication and presentation skills
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Ability to communicate complex advanced markets concepts in simple, easy to understand terms
• Demonstrated proficiency in case design, sales skills and cross-selling skills with agents
• Understanding of how life insurance and annuity products work to complete the implementation of advanced markets concepts
• 30% travel to present in field and attend industry meetings required
