Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
As a Foundry Product Engineer at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, you will work on high volume products based on 14nm FinFET technology with quality, yield and execution driven team members. The engineer will have an opportunity to launch various new products into high volume manufacturing. The individual will collaborate with internal teams to understand product details, analyze test level data, correlate to inline electrical parameters and ultimately be responsible for on time new product introduction success.
Specific Job Duties:
• The primary responsibilities will be to monitor yield and wafer sort program changes for high volume 14nm products as well as engage with internal / external teams for successful launch of new products
• The engineer should be familiar with modern AP/ RF / SoC manufacturing, semiconductor device physics, testing techniques and failure mechanisms
• Pre-Silicon responsibilities include: research products application and features, define wafer yield expectation by comparing to other similar device / process / application, prepare product schedule, check risk points, understand customer test content and flow / analysis plans
• Post-Silicon responsibilities include: Gap analysis vs expectation, test bin table definition and ET correlation, test program analysis and test spec understanding, corner analysis and characterization for PVT (process, voltage, temperature) margin, internal analysis tool bring up, and e-Failure Analysis bring up and validation
• Opportunity to develop / improve internal analysis tools based on Python/R/Spotfire/JMP

Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
BS/MS Electrical Engineer preferred with >5yrs experience as Product Engineer (basic understanding of Test and Device Eng)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools
• New product introduction (NPI), device/environmental qualification (HTOL, ELFR, ESD, THB, uHAST, etc), yield analysis (ability to discern failures as fab/test related).
• High volume production and demonstration of strong yield analysis capability (analysis tool experience: Spotfire / JMP).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills as potential for customer interaction
•Integrity, excellent teamwork, flexibility, strong work ethic, and a sense of urgency
Desired Experience:
• Experience with FinFET technology, basic process integration, and device physics
• Experience using Python or R to develop interactive apps / dashboards (Spotfire), comfortable with open source frameworks (Pandas, Numpy, etc.), knowledge of software development best practices (coding standards, testing, and operations)
