Qualifications:

• Must be highly motivated, ambitions & career minded.
• Must work well in a TEAM setting.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in residential construction estimating. College/University Education may make up for some experience.
• Experience in high end residential remodeling estimating is valuable.
• Experience in light commercial construction is valuable.
• College education is valuable.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

• Pre-Bid/Pre-Construction Phase
• Estimate residential and commercial projects (new construction and renovation).
• Read and interpret plans/construction documents.
• Communicate with Owner(s) and produce requests for information.
• Produce detailed bid invitations for subcontractors and vendors.
• Coordinate and facilitate site visits and pre-bid meetings.
• Receive bids and evaluate for correctness and accuracy.
• Perform take-offs for scopes or work including, but not limited to: sitework, concrete, masonry, rough carpentry, exterior finishes, windows and doors, interior casework, flooring/surfaces/tile.
• Investigate requirements by building departments, utilities, and other municipalities that may affect cost of construction.
• Produce detailed scope of work upon completion of estimate.
• Assist Project Manager in selecting and awarding subcontracts.
• Prepare subcontracts for Project Manager to execute.
• Post-Bid/Construction Phase
• Shop/purchase bulk material.
• Estimate change orders.

Computer Program Experience:

• Must have general computer experience and be able to navigate computer files/network.
• Must be proficient in Outlook (email and contacts).
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient in Sage 100 Contractor valuable.
